Our Story

More than a Wisconsin Historical Museum

The Tower Heritage Center is an entire campus of historical museums filled with the sights, sounds, and experiences of life in earlier times. Visit our historical buildings to learn for yourself how the past creates interesting insights into our community and personal lives today. Celebrate the past, present, and future with us!

Connecting the Past with the Present

The Tower Heritage Center (TTHC) is home to the Washington County Historical Society, a nonprofit organization that believes in forging meaningful connections across generations to Washington County’s hard-working legacy. And it has been our mission in some form since 1875!

We are passionate about drawing the connections between the past and present, in our region and beyond while staying true to our roots as THE source of information about many bygone eras. Today, we are developing new and innovative ways to reach folks from all walks of life while still preserving and educating about our larger community’s unique heritage. This direction is the focus of the 5-Year ReConnect, our biggest growth initiative in our history.

We seek to uncover compelling stories and create meaningful experiences that define and unify. Here are a few ways we tell our stories:

  • Preservation Consulting
  • Immersive Sites
  • Research Services
  • Programs & Events
  • Curated Content

We invite everyone to reach out about our efforts and get to know our impact within the community.
