Architectural Heritage Series: Fasteners in Historic Buildings

December 2 | 9:30 am - 10:30 am

$10 – $20

Nails, screws, pegs…all are fasteners still used today. But did you know that these fasteners have a rich history? Sign up today to explore the world of fasteners used in historic buildings with Steve Stuckey, former architectural conservator of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home and current executive director and architectural conservator for The Tower Heritage Center.

Throughout this exciting session, details about how nails, screws, and wood pegs were made and installed, how the shapes and forms inform us, and the evolution of different ways to connect building parts will be uncovered. There will be fabulous images, drawings, a private collection display, and, as always, lots of energy! So don’t miss out!
