Space is limited to 4 people per tour, and reservations are required. Masks are not required. We encourage you to follow CDC guidelines as they pertain to your specific situation. Admission is free for members and $5.00 per person for non-members.

Neighbors Past and Present: The Wisconsin German Experience is a traveling exhibit presented by the Max Kade Institute for German-American Studies at UW-Madison. This 14 panel exhibit explores German migration and settlement in Wisconsin, questions of ethnicity and identity in newly forged communities, and the cohesiveness of these communities over the decades, especially in times of economic crisis or war.
If you are visiting Germanfest, why not continue a block west on 5th Avenue and get out of the heat? Follow the German Heritage Trail signs along 5th Ave. to the 1889 Courthouse Museum to enjoy the exhibit free with admission or membership as well as the rest of the Courthouse Museum (and our air conditioning and bathrooms)!
